The results that emerged from Designalism Newsroom were presented during a public event on July 8, 2022. Here, the 18 participants talked about their results and findings. Pulitzer Prize winner Alison Killing was invited to talk about her work at the intersection of design, architecture and journalism. Tamara Witschge was moderator during this event.
During this 'newsroom of the future' at Beeld en Geluid Den Haag, 18 talented designers, journalists, developers and artists have been working on 3 current issues by Pointer (KRO-NCRV), de Volkskrant and NOS.

Designalism Newsroom is a program that encourages promising 'designalists' to develop experimental media productions for a varied audience. Participants worked intensively together to create special narrative formats to achieve a better understanding of current events and to appeal to new audiences.

Alison Killing
Alison Killing is an investigative journalist and licensed architect. She was born in the UK and now lives in Rotterdam. Alison uses open source techniques, geospatial analysis and 3d modelling to investigate and tell stories. Her most recent work is an investigation of the network of detention camps in Xinjiang, China, awarded the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 2021.
Tamara Witschge
Tamara Witschge is lector Crossmedia at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and she researches the interaction between art and journalism in an academic context.
